My passion for production started at an early age, but it wasn’t until I set foot in my first Avid editing class at St. John’s University that I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my career. Now, with 20 years of experience under my belt, nothing brings me more joy than to help the next generation of editors cultivate their talent, and grow into passionate story tellers.
After graduating SJU in 2004, I landed my first job at Atlantic Video where I was a video editor responsible for supporting the ESPN morning show Cold Pizza. I worked all night with producers to cut b-roll, packages, and promos.
In 2007, I started working at ABC News Digital supporting the live streaming channel ABC News NOW. Quickly, I branched off into working on a variety of programming for site, social, and broadcast. I was part of the team that launched GMA NOW, the third hour of Good Morning America. I was also the co-producer and series video editor for Popcorn with Peter Travers from 2013 - 2022. I edited and produced over 600 episodes; the series’ distinctive and informal interview style garnered a cult following within the film community & became a must-stop in New York for directors and actors promoting their projects.
In 2015, as ABC News rapidly expanded their digital content offerings, I was tapped to lead a team of 9 employees to service the video needs of all departments within ABC News Digital. Collectively, we launched an entire slate of award-winning original content that drove collaboration within ABC News digital platforms and linear programming.
As a manager, I am well-versed in production timelines, scheduling, training, media management, and setting the standard operating procedure for large teams. I continue to edit and collaborate with producers and directors to elevate every project that comes across my desk. And like many editors in the last few years, I pivoted during the COVID-19 crisis and was able to transition my entire team to a remote-based workflow so we could continue to edit. The systems I established were widely distributed and used throughout many teams at ABC News.
I am a lifelong Queens resident, with my wife, 2 sons, and our 2 dachshunds. Unfortunately, that also means I have had a lifetime of suffering as a Mets fan. In my free time I like to travel, hike, and kayak.
